von Willebrand Lab Evaluation: Merging Assay Choices with Recent Consensus Guidelines
Von Willebrand disease (VWD) is a common inherited bleeding disorder, characterized by either quantitative or qualitative deficiency of von Willebrand factor (VWF) function. Acquired forms of VWD also occur. The accurate diagnosis of VWD is challenging requiring clinical suspicion followed by specific laboratory studies.
